Interests
My interests varies with time, and span a wide spectrum. Most of the time, it also takes lots of money to fund my interests. Currently, my main interests are multi-sports events and programming and scripting.
Multi-sports Events
Mainly, I am interested in triathlons and duathlons.I only got interested in this kind of races late 2007, during the school year end holidays. At that time, I got a hybrid bike, so I was doing some cycling. As I wanted to improve my overall stamina, I got started into running as well. Now, I was really bad at running and before I started, I could barely run 3KM. Anyway,one fine day, I thought, why don’t I do the 2 together? I can’t swim (though I am learning now), but a little research on Wikipedia introduced me to the world of duathlons, and I was hooked. Run, Cycle, Run. It sounded like a challenge to me. However, I was sure that my hybrid bike wasn’t going to make the cut for proper races, so in Jan 2008, I got a new entry level bike, Trek 1200. As for my running, I have improved tremendously within a short period of time, and I even made it to my school’s Cross Country Team. Now, I am looking forward to taking part in my first(as of time of writing) Duathlon race in June 2008. Someday, I do hope to take part in a full Ironman triathlon race.
Programming/Scripting
I started programming and scripting since the year 2005. Then, I had very little computing knowledge and beyond doing the usual stuff such as surfing the net, typing documents and playing computer games (Red Alert 2, anyone?), I pretty much didn’t bother with exploring the computer platform, although I was in the robotics team in my Primary School. I forgot the exact details, but I actually wanted to create a mod of a PHP game, and that’s what got me started. In case you are curious, the mod I had in mind is Project Extension, but, as explained in my own post-mortem analysis, I never got around to finishing it. Besides PHP/MySQL script, I am also moving into Mac Application development right now.
Likes/Wants
Ok, basically I love Apple products. My fetish for Apple products started with the 1st Gen iPod Shuffle, which I got in 2005. Then I got a 1st Gen iPod Nano in 2006 (and my mum is still using the iPod Shuffle). However, most unfortunately, the Nano got crushed within 4 months of use, but at the end of 2006, I got a 5.5G iPod, and I am still using that now. In March 2008, I persuaded my parents to purchase my first Mac, a 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo 15″ Macbook Pro. Interestingly, I got my second Mac in October 2008, a 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook, by winning a competition. Although there has been a few issues, I am generally pleased with Apple products, so much so that I am going to get an iPhone, especially if it is a 2nd Generation one, when it does come to Singapore.
I have a long list of things that I want, but currently, the 2 things I desire the most is a Mac Pro and a full carbon time trial bike, both of which are highly expensive. (The Mac Pro configuration I am looking at costs about S$8000 and a carbon TT bike would be in the price range of S$5000 to S$7000). I doubt my parents will be willing to sponsor me a new TT bike, after all they are not exactly supportive of my sporting passion, though they might be willing to buy a Mac Pro if I do exceedingly well in my A levels.
I am also a big fan of Steve Jobs.

I am not really strongly opinionated against anything, maybe except people talking behind my back.
